Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or green onions

Method
 

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the shrimp and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and nearly cooked through.
  5. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Pour the honey mixture into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water.
  9. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the sauce and cook until slightly thickened.
  10. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  11. Cook for 1 to 2 more minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked and glazed.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions and serve immediately.
