Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 ounces each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Honey BBQ Glaze
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

Method

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. Brush both sides of the salmon with olive oil.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic.
  6. Place the salmon skin-side down on the grill.
  7. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes without moving the fillets.
  8. Brush the tops generously with the honey BBQ glaze.
  9. Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes, brushing with additional glaze until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  10. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Leave the skin on to help keep the salmon together while grilling.
  • Oil the grill grates well to prevent sticking.
  • Don't overcook the salmon or it will become dry.
  • Apply the glaze during the final minutes to prevent burning.
  • Fresh salmon provides the best flavor and texture.
